Hebru Brantley, born in 1981 in Chicago, is a contemporary artist whose upbringing on the city's South Side profoundly influences his work. After studying at the American Academy of Art, he found inspiration in Chicago's vibrant street art scene, shaping his distinctive style blending elements of street art, pop culture, and comic book aesthetics. Brantley's art often delves into themes of youth, race, and urban life, drawing from his own experiences growing up on Chicago's South Side. His iconic "Flyboy" and "Lil Mama" characters have become synonymous with his artistry, appearing in various forms from paintings to sculptures.
